About Us

We are two sisters who between us are experienced moms, grandmas, teachers, and writers… among other things. In some ways we are quite similar. In other ways we are as different as can be! One is quiet and reserved. The other really could be a stand-up comedian! We have lived a lot and lost more than we should. Yet, we are blessed beyond words.

We both grew up in the Mid-South. One is still there, and one has moved around the country. It makes for confusing accents!

MamaHummingbird is dedicated to our mom, Madeline. She loved watching the hummingbirds who visited her yard each year. We miss her every day and learned much of what we will share from her example. Mom endured a lot, loved generously, and impacted more people than we knew. Mom told everyone she met to “Have a blessed day.” So, there you go.
